Hugging the hillside at 950 meters, Arachova village is awe inspiring at first glance, either bathed in sunlight or half hidden in the clouds, or lit up at night with the rock of the infamous clock tower standing out clearly like a fort washed in orange light.

The mountain resort, well known for its woven goods, the 'formaella' cheese specialty, and the local brusco wine, lies at the foot of the Parnassos mountain.

In the 1821 revolution the village was associated with Karaiskaki, who eliminated the armies of Moustaphabey in the region.

The statue commemorating this, today still proudly reminds them of this victory, however the picture of modern Arachova is very different.
